আজ আমরা আমাদের পশ্চাৎমস্তিষ্কের সবচেয়ে বড় অংশটির সম্পর্কে জানব।হ্যাঁ,আমাদের আজকের বিষয় Cerebellum.

⭕Position:
The cerebellum is situated in the posterior cranial fossa.
এটি superiorly আবৃত থাকে tentorium cerebelli দ্বারা।আর আমরা জানি যে আমাদের anterior এবং middle cranial fossa তে থাকে cerebrum.তাই cerebellum এর superiorly tentorium cerebelli এর আবরণ থাকায় বলা যায়, the cerebellum is separated from the cerebrum by tentorium cerebelli.

⭕Connection:
Brainstem এর সাথে cerebellum তিনটি cerebellar peduncle এর মাধ্যমে যুক্ত থাকে।
The cerebellum is connected with-
➡️ Midbrain through superior cerebellar peduncle.
➡️ Pons through middle cerebellar peduncle.
➡️ Medulla oblongata through inferior cerebellar peduncle.

⭕Parts of cerebellum:
তিনটি lobe থাকে-
⏩ Anterior lobe
⏩ Middle lobe
⏩ Flocculonodular lobe

⭕Histological structure of cerebellum:
Cerebellum এর বাইরের দিকে থাকে Grey matter এবং ভেতরে থাকে White matter.
Grey matter আবার তিনটি layer এ বিভক্ত থাকে-
📍 Molecular layer
📍 Purkinje cell layer এবং
📍 Granular layer
আর White matter এ তিন ধরনের fiber থাকে-
📌 Intrinsic fiber
📌 Afferent fiber
📌 Efferent fiber

⭕Function of cerebellum:
Cerebellum আমাদের smooth co-ordinary voluntary movement এ সাহায্য করে।এছাড়াও tone, posture, equilibrium এর নিয়ন্ত্রণ হয় cerebellum দ্বারা।
